Business need
The city of Ackland currently provides drinking water supplies to the city population through its Public Water Supply System. Current plans to develop a new residential housing project at Benburb Street will require the extension of the supply to 3,000 new homes to be built in this area. The new households will be subject to an annual water rate charge.
Project objectives
To provide drinking water of a quality and standard that meets the National Primary Drinking Water Act to 3,000 new homes at a supply pressure of 35 psi and with a minimum capacity of 1.5 gallons per minute. To design, build, and commission all the required infrastructure to provide the water supply as described above.
Project team
The project manager is responsible for the management of the project. The project manager will have authority for the project including staff hiring and contracting with suppliers and contractors. The project manager's authority will be limited to expenditures directly related to the project and within the project's stated budget. The design manager is responsible for project design, including pipeline, buildings, and plant equipment. The construction manager oversees construction and site work.
